Meanwhile, Bill Paul was our greeter today, Terry Bichlmeier offered the invocation, and Dave Whitehead arrived in the nick of time to lead us in the flag salute.

Meals-on-Wheels: Michael Jackson and Elizebeth Diels delivered today.  Next week we need some volunteers.

President Nancy Campbell gave a brief summary of last weekend’s District 5280 annual conference in Santa Barbara. Our club was well represented there with 16 members in attendance. Nancy gave an entertaining account of how she was roped into serving as emcee during Saturday’s luncheon.  While serving as emcee she introduced Tom Riley who spoke about our club’s partnership with the Molina Foundation distributing books to area school children.  The club’s Businessperson of the Year, Deborah Sheppard, was nominated and named the District’s Businessperson of the Year.

Our club received the President’s Citation for Achievement in Vocational Service.  Governor Lew Bertrand awarded club members Colette and Bill Paul each the Governor’s Award for Excellence; Colette for her work developing graphics for the district and brochures, and Bill for his work on the district website. Finally PDG Rick Mendoza was nominated and elected to serve on the nominating committee for the next RI Representative for Zone 26.
