Small Business Needs in the South Bay

Mark Lipps is CEO of the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce (the chamber is celebrating it's 76th year) and a 20+ year resident of Manhattan Beach.

Mark worked for 30 years in the TV industry, starting with a career in television news in Evansville, IN and Springfield, MO. He worked in syndication based out of Chicago for MTM Enterprises and later Rysher Entertainment based out of Dallas. The last 18-years were with the Fox Broadcasting Network in Los Angeles. Mark took the early retirement package offered by Fox and started looking for opportunities to do what he was "made" to do vs just "paid" to do.

Mark has entered the Chamber world with a fresh new look at network socials for the Manhattan Beach Chamber - introducing the concept locally of "speed networking" after hours, once a month lunch and learns and partnering with local publications to create new and exciting events designed to foster local and community relationships.

In addition to his professional life, Mark has been very involved in the community as a graduate of Leadership Manhattan, Community Police Academy and MBCERT; he is a member of MB Rotary and MB Chamber of Commerce; and he sits on a city commission.

He has also written a popular local newsletter for the last eighteen years called Happy Friday Neighbors - a chronicle of his daily life in civic and community adventures in Manhattan Beach and does a semi-regular column in the Beach Reporter called Chamber Chat.  Mark has three grown sons and his wife, Tammy, is the owner/chef of the Ripe Choice Catering company located in Manhattan Beach providing high end catering and private chef services.
