The McMartin Preschool Case

Eli Gauna transferred his membership to the Redondo Beach Rotary Club several years ago from the Greater Van Nuys Rotary Club. He served as District 5260 District Governor 1991-92 (many years before the 2 districts merged).

Born in New Mexico, he moved with his family to the San Fernando Valley when he was very young.  Eli earned his B.A. from UCLA in international relations,  to law school at Southwestern University earning his J.D. in 1968 - starting his own law office in the San Fernando Valley, and was the first Spanish speaking attorney in the Valley at that time.

Besides being District Governor, the highlights of his Rotary career were representing the R.I. president to Cabo San Lucas, Merida MX and Santa Fe; also leading the GSE team in March 2010 to Nepal.
