When the Ocean Bites Back

Mike Peterson grew up in coastal Florida and California where he developed a fascination for the ocean world at an early age. He graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara with an emphasis in Marine Biology before going to medical school at UC San Diego and then performing a residency in Emergency Medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Mike is now Vice Chair for Clinical Operations for the Department of Emergency Medicine at Harbor and a Professor of Emergency Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.

Mike has been a scuba diver and sailor for many years, and can often be found on his boat ChriSea. One of his areas of expertise is injuries encountered in the marine environment.
