Centered Living: Transforming Conflict with Compassionate Communication

Michelle Charfen is an Emergency Medicine Physician at Providence Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance, CA. She is the founder of Centered Parenting and facilitates workshops for parents, educators and groups interested in strengthening their communication skills and fostering well-being. Participants in today's mini-workshop will be introduced to the theory of Nonviolent Communication as a tool to foster both compassion for oneself and others while navigating challenging situations.

Michelle has a BA in Human Biology from Stanford University; an MD from Harvard Medical School; and a Masters of Science in Epidemiology from the School of Public Health at UCLA. She received her training in Emergency Medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and lives with her husband Christian Horvath and three children in Redondo Beach, CA.
