Born in downtown Los Angeles, Dinah Lary has been a Southern California girl all of her life.  Her family settled in the South Bay in 1960.  Dinah has a large “Brady Bunch” family with five brothers and two sisters. She graduated from West High School in Torrance, earned her cosmetology license and continued to take college classes when possible while raising her family.

Her community involvement began in the mid 70’s with PTA serving as President and also as President of the Glendora Newcomers Club.

In 1980, Dinah began working full time.  Her career path has taken many twists and turns.  She has worked in several different industries always with a focus on making people happy, problem solving, organizing, safety and having fun.

While working full time she held several volunteer positions in numerous organizations which include Soroptimist International, Exchange Club, the Founding President of the Redondo Beach Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association, President of the Association of Celebrity Personal Assistants, member of many South Bay Chambers of Commerce, Past Chair of the Board for the Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce, graduate and Co-Chair of Leadership Redondo 2004, current Leadership Redondo program coordinator, two term President of Redondo Beach Round Table and been on many boards and  committees including the Salvation Army, Leadership Redondo Steering Committee and several Visitor Bureaus.

She was the project coordinator for the Bill and Bob Meistrell Memorial Statue located at Seaside Lagoon in Redondo Beach spearheading the fundraising efforts with an army of amazing volunteers in recognition of the legendary founders of Body Glove.  Another proud moment was having the honor of serving as Co-Chair of the Special Olympics World Games Host Town Redondo Beach. She continues to support Special Olympics and the Wounded Heroes of America through her current job.

Travel has always been a love of her life.  She has managed to visit many parts of the world either for work or play.

Her most important accomplishment is her family.  She and this husband just celebrated their 38th Anniversary.  Together they have 3 grown sons, 4 grandsons and 1 granddaughter.  Dinah and her husband live with her son and are helping raise their two grandsons, and care for her 92 year old father.  They all continue to love, support and challenge her daily and wonder what her next adventure will be.
