How To Be an Effective Advocate for Your Loved One in our Health Care System

Dr Timothy Horeczko received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Literature from U.C. Berkley (he speaks Spanish, French, Italian, German, Russian and Ukrainian) before attending medical school at U.C. Davis. He then performed a residency in Emergency Medicine and a fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and has a Master of Science in Clinical Research degree from UCLA.

Timothy is now a faculty member in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Harbor-UCLA and an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He has received several teaching awards, performs clinical research aimed at improving emergency medical care for children, and has a popular podcast that shares recent advances in pediatric emergency care with emergency physicians in the U.S. and around the world.

Timothy will share lessons he has learned -- not as a physician, but as a dedicated family member just trying to help navigate what can be an overwhelming, monolithic health care system.
