Connie Sullivan graduated from UCLA in 1981 and soon after joined Los Angeles County in the Division of Health, Safety and Disability Benefits. She began as an epidemiology analyst and eventually rose to become the division chief.  Eventually she transferred to the Chief Executive Office as manager of the Section of Data Integration, Evaluation Services and Urban Research.

Dr. Sullivan retired from Los Angeles County's Chief Executive Office in 2008. Since leaving the County she volunteered for the Los Angeles County District Attorney for five years and the Palos Verdes Estates CARES program for two years. She currently is active with the Citizens Climate Lobby and South Bay 350.org.  In 2017 Supervisor Janice Hahn appointed her to the Los Angeles County Citizens Economy and Efficiency Commission.

Dr. Sullivan received her Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology from Purdue University and a Doctor of Public Health Degree in Epidemiology from UCLA.
